Hi there blinking bear. He’s possibly going to live on my website.
Started a Facebook like page! Partly to do with the fact I bombard my friends with arty pictures. Please like to get me started :)
I love everything about wood block type, when I came across a whole shop of it I got a bit trigger happy. The shop is called tombées du camion which is in Paris. Also came across this vulgar stamp set which was awesome! But a tad out of my price range for stamps with rude phrases on. Enjoy :)
I Love Paris
I was lucky enough to spend a weekend in Paris as my dad turned 60! He wanted to celebrate in style so off we went on the euro star and had the most amazing couple of days. I took so many photos and we did so many cool things I thought it might be best to post about them in seprate posts. There is so much amazing typography in Paris, if you like type then keep your eyes peeled for some tasty type pictures! And anyone who knows me will know I’m a massive pudding fan, and I had a different awesome cake of some kind each day so a food post is a must. Happy birthday to the man himself and hope he doesn’t mind me posting a picture of him on here, the matching pink shirts were completely by accident by the way.
Went to Maltby street Food and Antiques market on saturday. Its only down the road from my flat and very well hidden. The stalls sell all sorts of yummy foods and cakes, I took my boyfriend for hot chocolate and tarts before we walked around the furniture vintage market which is just next to the street. A really nice day out and so close! We’re making notes of food and drink we want to try the following saturday already haha.
Took the boyfriend to the zoo on saturday as he’s never been to this one. It was prefect for it we walked along the river from Camden leading up to London Zoo, the sun was shining, we got ice cream and saw lots of lovely animals. Favourites were probably the penguins and giraffes being happy chappies.
The flower market on sunday. I was actually working at the gallery that day so couldn’t take any more photos and have a wonder. Will come back a day I’m not working.
Here are some snaps from this years Pick Me Up, I am apart of the Nelly Duff team and the theme for our room is the Flower Show, as the gallery is on columbia Road where the famous flower market is held every sunday. It was stress for a while but it paid off in the end the space looked amazing with grass and real flowers. Come and check it out its on for two weeks and the rest of Pick Me Up is well worth seeing.
Snap of last nights private view at the Show of Hands. A show case of Gaia’s drawings and artworks. You can see me in the bottom! hehe
I haves set up a blogger account as well and my tumblr now, its more wordy then this one and a lot of people I’ve come across on this year out tend to use blogger instead. If you have one send me your links to check out!
The lovely people of Tiger Print Studios have been kind enough to send me their photos from the open day/interview day for the report I need to make for June.
Happy easter :) Heres some bunnies for you x
A DIY wedding invitation I design for a friend thats getting married In August, The colour theme is dusty purple which was really hard to find in stock with paper shops! Hand made all 120 invites exhausting job but worth it as the bride is really happy with the final result.
The wedding invitations are made up of a pack of information cards so the bride and groom can pick and choose which information went to each guest. They are packaged in this paper die-cut box with dried lavender and hand punch heart confetti from old books to give it that vintage feel.
